Goin' Fishing

Casey bought Samuel a fishing pole.  They've done some "fishing" in the pool.  Samuel is actually really good at casting.

Pow Pow

Samuel chose to get a cowboy gun one afternoon for his treat for being good at school.

I have always tried to avoid the gun toys-its the public school teacher in me, I guess.  I know that boys play with toy guns and that there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.  I will just have to make super sure to tell him not to play those shooting games at school.

But at home, it sure is cute to hear him run around being a cowboy.  :)

His fork skills aren't the best!

See?

Bubbles and Blue Faces

With all of the warm January days we've been having, Samuel has spent some fun time in the backyard blowing bubbles.

One evening, after having our indoor picnic, Samuel got to enjoy one of those little cupcake cakes that look like a puppy.  Of course, he chose blue.

My little smurf!

ps.  when you are as pale as Samuel is, blue icing stains your skin. We went straight to the tub and did some major scrubbing.  No luck!  He was blue for a few days.  :)

Big Buck Classic

We had our annual outing to the Big Buck Classic this past Sunday.  Samuel really enjoyed looking at all of the animals.  I always enjoy the quality people watching.  :-)

Isn't this deer beautiful? He was the first one we've ever seen that didn't seem tranquilized or freaked out by the crowd. When I pointed my camera at him, he turned to look at me like he was posing.

The Game and Fish commission always bring that GIGANTIC fish tank with Arkansas native fish.  Samuel was fascinated.

The wild animals wren't very interesting to Samuel this year. This was the only pic I got of him even close to them.

He was fascinated by the climbing wall. I have a feeling we'll be watching him climb that someday.

It turned into a beautiful day!

Party Animal

His birthday party was so fun-he got a black eye!

We didn't see it til later that night.  He has yet to complain about it.  Little slugger!

My 3 Year Old Boy

I posted a bunch of pics from his birthday celebrations.  They're back dated to keep things sequential.

Pire Pighter Party

We had Samuel's party this weekend at our house.  We had 49 people over.  And, no, I will not have another party at our house if I can help it.  :-)

If you were wondering what a Pire Pighter party is, that's Samuel-ese for Fire Fighter.

I ordered some fun printable from Shindig Parties and just loved them!  I'll definitely be using her again.

Samuel has 8 firetrucks, so we scattered those around the table and house. Of course, once all the kids got there, they left the table and became toys again. :-)

As we were singing Happy Birthday, I realized that I was holding my camera.  Thank goodness my sister, Valerie had hers out and snapped some pics for me. She's a pretty good sister, I'll keep her.

Blowing out his candles.

Sweet Baby "Case" Chase.

Here are some pics of just a few of the kids. I didn't get everybody-seriously, there were 19 kids there. The little boys were having so much fun running around, I didn't want to disturb their fun.

And a few of the adults.

We decided not to open presents with all of the kids around. Samuel doesn't have a great track record for present opening-it's usually the cause of a meltdown.

After it was just family left, Samuel changed out of his special Fireman shirt and got down to business.

Kensley and Emily helped.

Samuel had a blast and I'm so glad everyone got to come!

Birthday Lunch

Saturday was Samuel's 3rd birthday. I had to make a last minute run to Kroger for some party stuff, so I let Samuel tell me what he wanted for lunch. He proclaimed(loudly, I might add) that he wanted a Lunchable.

So that's what he got, a Lunchable, french fries, and cheese puffs.

When he has really good days at school, we take him to Baskin Robbins for a scoop of ice cream.  During one of our visits, he spotted the Spongebob ice cream cake.

He LOVED blowing out that candle.

Now for a few presents from Mommy and Daddy.
A kid sized snuggie. He loves to try to wear mine.

His first Nerf gun. When he started playing with it, we discovered Maddie's only fear.  Bless her heart.  She climbed into my lap-and while I'm a big girl, my lap isn't big enough for a 90 lb lab/pit mix.

His first big boy bike--I just knew it was going to be too big for him, but I bet we'll have to raise the seat and handle bars before summer.

Samuel's Class Party

I took cupcakes to Samuel's class the Friday before his birthday. I wanted him to have a special day. With my birthday being in July, I never got those days.  It was so fun.  I'm really glad I did it.

When I got there, Ms. Ashley was helping Samuel put his birthday crown on.  These are the other 2 kiddos who were awake and "helping" Ms. Ashley.

Then it was time to wake everyone up and get the mats all cleaned up and ready to go home.  Samuel really helped kids wake up-he was ready for those cupcakes.

All the kids gathered on their shapes on the carpet and sang Happy Birthday to him.

Samuel and his best buddy, Jamari.

Cupcake Time!!

Some of the sweet faces he gets to play with every day.  I love how diverse his class is.  And just look at those sweet faces!
