Samuel Makes Us Smile

Even though Samuel has been testing his limits and experiencing quite a bit of discipline, he has also been keeping us laughing.

I told you about his Toy Story obsession.  When we traveled to Hope/Prescott this past weekend, he insisted on holding Jesse, Woody, and Buzz.  He had trouble finding a place for his fruit. :-)

He has really started pretending lately.  From the back seat we heard him say, "Yucky Buzz!" and we turned to see Buzz and Jesse holding hands.  :-)

Saturday evening at Mom and Dad's house, Samuel got into Mom's cabinets and started "cooking." We just watched him from the dining room until we noticed there was something actually in the tube pan.  He had gotten the baking soda from the pantry and was stirring it up.

Sunday morning while we were all getting ready for church, he yelled, "Mommy, look! I a baby!" This is what I found.

Then he did it again in a few minutes!

And then he fell asleep on the way home Sunday.  Isn't that cute?  He wasn't feeling great, but had been so good all day.

Tonight, I made tacos for supper and folded his meat and cheese into a quesadilla to make it easier to hold.  He ended up eating mostly the filling.  Then Casey made him an ice cream cone for dessert.  Guess where we swooped him off to after dinner?  Yep, the bathtub.

Why, yes, that is a band-aid on his forehead.  Nope, he's not hurt-just silly!

Guess What Samuel is Learning About

Samuel is going through an aggressive phase.  I'm hoping that by writing this out, I'll be one step closer to looking back on it and laughing. :-)

Everyone assures me that the terrible twos/threes is truly just a phase that he has to go through.  And that he'll get past it.

I am trying to make sure I make all of the correct decisions and use the correct/appropriate consequences for him. God has heard from me quite a lot on the subject.  :-)

Random August Pictures

August has just flown by.  I started back to school on the 5th-too early-so most of these pictures were taken before that while we were trying to soak up as much Samuel time as possible.

Stop helping me!  I'm a big boy!

Feeding his horse-Bullseye.  Can you guess where he got the name? :-)

YeeHaw!!

Guess what movie he's watching?

Fun in the yard!

An ice cream treat for having a good day at school!

Toy Story Obsession

Samuel has become obsessed with all things Toy Story.  And I mean obsessed.

As I started taking pictures for this post, though, I realized that maybe Mommy and Daddy are contributing to the obsession.

Just look at all of this STUFF!

Just one of the many pairs of underwear.  We are hoping they will inspire him to get on the Potty Train.

Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear. They go everywhere with us-to school, to Kroger, to each room we happen to be in, and to bed every night.

He even spotted these at Kroger a couple of weeks ago.

When the costume catalog came in, he found these costumes on page 2.  I'll confess that I hope he moves past this before Halloween.

Buzz in a rocket, Buzz game, and a coloring book.

The blanket he sleeps under every night.  Forgive the messy bed-he doesn't sleep on it yet, so it's still a play surface.

Play clothes.

Bubbles.

Pajamas.

Little action figures-sorry about the quality of this picture.

Stickers and notepad for his diaper bag.

T-shirts

Sippy cups.

Look How Much He's Grown!

Today was the first day of Samuel's new classroom.  He wasn't cool with it-at all.  So no pics of him being pleasant or happy.  But I did manage to get him to stand still long enough to mark his growth on our pantry door frame.

Can you believe that?

KATV appearance for Rhea Lana's

This past week, Rhea Lana's Consignment event has been happening in North Little Rock. I've always volunteered, so I could shop early. This year, Rhea Lana, asked me if I'd like to be a manager and work for her.

Last Thursday, when we were checking consignors merchandise, she asked me if I'd like for Samuel to be on TV.  I could choose a nice outfit and get it early.  Of course!!! I chose a pair of Baby Gap khakis, a Ralph Lauren botton down, a Kelly's Kids coat, and a pair of Bass shoes.  Retail, the outfit would have been about $150, at Rhea Lana's it was only $22 all together!  See why I love Rhea Lana's?!

This video makes this look so cute, but what you can't see is me in the background running behind all of the cameras waving my hands trying to get his attention(no talking while they filmed.)  All I could think of was how much all of the damage was going to cost.  :-) By the time we left, I was trembling and exhausted!

After getting home and watching the segment, I got so tickled.  Was he adorable or what?!

Valerie's First Baby Shower

Yesterday was Valerie's first baby shower.  It was so great!  She's had so many people praying for this baby, there were TONS of ladies at the shower.

Look at those gifts!  Garret Memorial Baptist in Hope knows how to throw a shower.

Valerie and her hostesses-friends from her book club and some ladies who've watched us grow up.  L-R: Becky Butler, Kristi Johnson, Valerie, Rebecca Hibbs, Belinda Miller, Angela Hibbs, Linda Burke, and Michelle Balentine

She got at least 10 sweet hand made blankets and quilts and afgans.  Chase should be nice and warm.  :-)

Baby Chase

This is the door hanger I made for Valerie to hang at the hospital when Chase is born.

Valerie is now 32 weeks pregnant.  32 weeks is the original goal of her pregnancy.  So....she made it!

She has been put on moderate bedrest, due to some protein showing up in her lab work. So far, there's not any blood pressure issues to accompany the protein issue, so we're staying positive. She will be coming to LR twice a week from now til she delivers.
