Christmas with the Fife's

We got together with my Dad's side of the family this past weekend in Greers Ferry.  It was so fun to see everyone relax and hang out for a while.

Some of the great grandkids and one great great.  It was tricky getting them to all look.

Happy Birthday, Owen!! #4

Saturday morning was Owen's birthday party.  We got to JumpZone at 9:30.  After dropping off presents, putting down our jackets, and looking at the cake Sarah made, we went in so Samuel could jump.

Here he is at 9:45-not jumping.

 And still at 10-not jumping.

10:05 watching James get ready to jump.

10:15-still not jumping.

10:25-finally jumping.  I took 20 pictures in these next 5 minutes.

At 10:30, they called us to the party room for the cake and presents.  Samuel got a whole 5 minutes of jump time.

We love Owen and really were proud to get to celebrate his birthday with him!! Happy #4!!

Fun in Hope

Since the roads were so bad in Little Rock, we spent a few extra days in Hope playing with Granny and Pop.

We also got some quality Chase time.  He is becoming so funny.  I just love this age when the personality asserts itself.  I believe Valerie is about to have her hands full.

Pop and his boys.

Granny helped us get all bundled up and we headed back out to try to build another snowman.  After the snow melted just a bit, it made a fantastic snowman.

Samuel was very creative and decided to use rocks to make his face and since we didn't have a carrot, he make a tiny snowball and stuck it to the face for the nose.

Chase got all bundled up and came out to have some fun, too.  He was delighted with the snowman.

Granny dug around in her closet and found the snowman some accessories.

Which Samuel absolutely loved.

It was a lot of fun to have some extra time to relax.

Snow Much Fun

When we woke up the morning after Christmas, Dad and Samuel sat in their chairs just studying the snow.  I thought it was pretty adorable how Samuel pulled his chair around and mimicked what Dad did.  He loves his Pop!!!

After we got all bundled up, we went out to play.  Again, the first thing he did was flop down to make another snow angel.

Look at that beautiful tree line.  I say beautiful, because in Hope, those trees didn't cause any power outages.

Samuel and Pop tried to make a snowman, but the snow just wouldn't stick together.  So everytime Pop would get a decent pile gathered, Samuel would demolish it.

Silly boy playing a trick Pop taught him to make people think the snow was super deep.  He thought that was pretty funny.

Christmas Night

The snow that they had been predicting got to Hope around 5:30-6:00.  We took the boys outside to see it. This was Chase's first snow.  Samuel was an old pro-he started eating it right away and running around.

He flopped right over and started making snow angels.

We lured them back inside with presents.  Samuel is at the age where everything is a good gift-he's thrilled with and loves anything he gets.

He took some time to help Pop open some of his gifts.

Pop was checking him out with his new Dr. kit.  He was a good patient.

Valerie got him a Toy Story tent and tunnel.  I think Chase enjoyed it just as much as Samuel did.

Santa Came! Santa Came!!

Samuel woke up pretty early Christmas morning, but he had forgotten that Santa had come.  He was so excited when he saw his new things.

He got everything he asked for-LOVE this age and the simplicity of their requests!!

After he opened his gifts, we told him he had a note from Santa.  He got a VERY worried look on his face and said, "Am I on the Naughty List?" Ha! At least he's aware of his own behavior.  :-)

We  told him that Santa and Rudolph left him a surprise in the backyard.  We bundled up and went to check it out.

He LOVES it.  Too bad it's been so dang cold since he got it.  He hasn't been able to play with it much.  But I predict many, many  hours of swinging and sliding this summer.
