Fall Trip to the Zoo

Today is the first day of Fall and it was a BEAUTIFUL day.  The weather was perfect!

I'm working Rhea Lana's all day tomorrow, so I won't get to play with Samuel.  I decided today would be a perfect time to go to the zoo.  Samuel and I rushed home and got Casey and headed over.

Look at his face!  Can you tell he's excited about riding the train?

Checking out the "Attack Geese." Yes, that's what the sign says.

Last time we went to the zoo, he wouldn't put his face through these.  He saw a couple of other kiddos doing it for pictures, so he was more willing.

He got a kick out of the elephants again today. These are the two new ones that the zoo got from Ringling Bros.  They were standing there swaying back and forth and then throwing dirt onto their backs.

Then, of course, we had to feed the fish.

It really was the perfect time to go.  Happy Fall!

Thursday-in the car

Thursday, when Samuel and I got home from school and Kroger, he wanted to stay in the car and watch Caillou.  No, I don't know why-he's silly sometimes.

So, I ran inside, grabbed my book and enjoyed the down time, too.

We stayed in there for about an hour.  I'd read a little, he'd watch a little Caillou.  He'd want me to read one of his books to him, so I would.  Then we talked and laughed. Then he'd go back to Caillou and I'd read.

I must confess...it was one of the best hours of my life.  I have a pretty special, silly little boy.

Playing in the Rain

Samuel decided he wanted to go play in the rain-so he did!

And boy did he have fun!

Some more of Samuel's Antics

An update on Samuel's discipline issues: HE'S DOING SO MUCH BETTER!!!!  He has even gotten Happy Grams from school the past two days!  His teacher has e-mailed me with encouragement and updates on his improvement.  Finally, the mantra, "No hitting, No biting, and No arguing!" has paid off!  He even reminded Casey the other night about the rules.  :-)

He's becoming so funny lately.  One night we were playing cars and all of a sudden, he decided that he wanted a "nap." So he just grabbed the carpet and pulled it over like a blanket.

If he gets quiet, we usually find him here-in his toybox!

Since the weather has been cooler, he has been playing outside with Casey more often.

Eating some lunch while watching the Razorback game.

Samuel has started wanting to nuggle(snuggle) with us in our bed.  He actually spent two hours with us in bed last Saturday.  It was heaven!

To make it even better-when we get home from school, he wants to nuggle and play with Mommy's hello(iPhone) while Mommy gets to watch Friends reruns on TBS!!  Did I say Heaven?  Yep, Heaven!!

Meeting Baby Chase

Samjuel got to meet Baby Case(Chase) this weekend.  We've been holding off on the intro-trying to avoid germs with the preemie and all.  After all, he's still not even supposed to be here until the 28th.

What's he saying?

Samuel has really started talking a LOT.  Most of it has become really easy to understand, but there are still some cute things that he says in his own way.

gump-jump
Maner-Mater from Cars
wakeenkeen-Lightning McQueen from Cars
fladder-flower
shadder-shower
do din-doing, "What you do-din?"
go din-going, "Where you go-din?"
cawbeggy-strawberry(the only way we knew what he was talking about was that we were right beside strawberries and he was pointing)
that's good manners-he congratulates himself when he uses his manners
I just walkin/eatin/sitting-his response to us wanting him to come with us somewhere or move on to another activitiy

He will repeat anything we ask him to.

He has started using his imagination more and more. We love to watch his monitor at night.  He plays and plays with Jesse and Woody.  He makes them talk to each other and everything.

He has also started really playing with his cars and trucks on his little carpet that looks like a road.

I've been sick this week and everytime I cough or sniffle, he comes and rubs my arm or back and says, "mommy, you okay?"
