Beach Day 2

I didn't take any pictures the first full day we were there.  I just enjoyed playing and hanging out.  

This is the view from our balcony we were able to throw our stuff over the edge and get it when we got to the bottom of the steps-not that we did it very often, but it was cool to have that option.  That's our canopy on the right with the blow up pool under it.  

Samuel wasn't as fond of the waves after that first day, so we filled up the blow-up pool with water for him to hang out in.  

He did lots of sandcastle building.

And hanging out.  Funny kid.

He let Casey cover him up with sand-we wondered if he'd let that happen.

Then I covered them both up.

I tried to get him to wear sunglasses.  This was taken the few seconds we got him to.

We found the pool and were delighted to swim for a while with no sand.  Okay, maybe it was just me that was thrilled to get away from the sand.

After naptime, we headed back down to the beach.  Shannah got burned the first day we were there, so she hung out under the canopy in the shade.

Shannah let us use her NetFlix account and we found some cartoons from 1981 that Samuel was enthralled with.

Will he like the waves and sand?

Headed to Gulf Shores

We are taking our first vacation with Samuel.  My friend, Shannah, is with us.  They had some fun in the backseat.  

Naptime in the car.  Can you imagine sleeping like that? Ouch!

This is also his first time to stay in a hotel. He loved it too.

Doing some reading before bedtime.

He was mesmerized by the tunnel in Mobile.

We had heard about how bad traffic was getting into the tunnel, so we left Hattiesburg pretty early.  Totally unnecessary.  So we had 2 hours before checking into the condo.

Lulu's turned out to be the best time filler ever.  Samuel loved the sand! Even though it felt like molten lava. :)

My Big Big Bed

Samuel decided that today was the day to sleep in his Big Big Bed.

Luckily I had these rails assembled and ready to go.  Now to get a bedskirt for that box spring.

He slept like a rock for 2 1/2 hours.

Watermelon and Swimming

Hanging Out in Hope

Since school is out, Samuel and I headed to Hope for a few days.  We rested and played.  

That sandbox keeps shrinking.  :-)

Chase watched in wonder. Samuel is definitely a spectacle.

Mom and Dad don't have a toddler bed, so Samuel wanted the mattress on the floor for his bed.

Mom and Dad tried to get my old tricycle out of the attic for Samuel, it was too far gone-it has been 30 years, after all..

So my dad's friend, John, brought dad one from his Western Auto store in exchange for Dad's work on his cars.
