Part 2-Samuel's First Travs Game

The rest of our Memorial Day weekend has been super lazy and relaxing.  We only got out one more time-to go to an Arkansas Traveler's Game.

We don't know how much of the game he actually saw, but he did have a blast.  Hot dogs, running around, people watching.  What more could you ask for?

The music they kept playing might have been is favorite part.  He loves music and dancing.

One of the players from the other team threw Samuel a baseball. He was so excited!

Memorial Day Weekend-pt 1

Day one of our weekend was fun.  And filled with very little. A refreshing change from last weekend.

Samuel slept til 9:00 and when he got up, was in a fabulous mood.  He and Casey played and played all day.

Around 5, we headed over to our new friend, Liz's house.  We got to meet her kids, Bella, Emma, and Russ.

Samuel had instant babysitters and tons of new toys to play with and explore.

This is Parker. He is Chad and Kelly's littlest guy.  Too cute!

Last Friday

I've been wanting to post this for a while, but had to dig through my pictures to make sure I didn't have any of kiddos that didn't have photo release forms. To play it safe, I tried to just avoid close up face pictures all together.

Last Friday, my school had it's BIG test reward day. If the students attended school everyday, were on time every day and had excellent behavior during those grueling test weeks, we rewarded them.

I have a friend who owns Inflate Arkansas, so he was able to give my school an excellent price on 5 bouncy houses.

The kids had an absolute blast! So did I, if truth be told. I love seeing children play. I think one of the things schools have forgotten is that elementary age children are still CHILDREN! Playing is vital to their social growth.

A big boy needs a big spoon

Tonight when we were eating dinner, Samuel insisted on a "big" spoon. So....he got one.

He was surprisingly good with it.  Less messy than a baby spoon. Hmmm.....

Oh man! Am I ready for this?

He's such a boy!

I was going to do this post about how "all boy" he is, but then I looked at this picture.

He glows!  Poor thing has his mom's pale complexion.

Move over, Picaso!

This weekend was supposed to be spent in Prescott and Hope.  However, on the way down, Samuel got sick.  Really sick.  The gross kind. So we headed back home to quarantine ourselves.

The poor guy didn't have any more stomach episodes, but ran a fever and just wasn't himself all weekend.  We even let him have his pacifier all weekend.

For the few minutes he felt good, we took him out to the backyard to play. Casey and I did some painting on the pool and had a few tablespoons of paint left.

Guess who played with it?

Best Friend

Samuel loves his big sister, Maddie. Her name was his first real word, actually.

Future Romance?

Last night, we kept my friend Paige's little lady, Charlie Kate. She's 6 months younger than Samuel.

She was an angel all evening.

Samuel was not.  Sharing isn't his strong suit.  This is one of many time-out trips.

He got the message after about 30 minutes and 20 time-outs.  She wasn't leaving and he had to share.  So they did. There was lots of goldfish swapping.

At bathtime, I took out all toys that could cause arguments and gave them 2 cups to play with.  They had a BLAST!!!

Samuel's such a ham, he kept her giggling the whole time.

This was after he demonstrated some bubble blowing.

He's growing up too fast!!

I just hit submit on an order and fighting off tears.  I ordered bed rails and a big boy potty!  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone?!

With school almost out, Casey and I talked about putting Samuel in his big boy bed and starting the dreaded potty training this summer when I can really work on it.  Can I just tell you how nervous I am about both?  Yikes!

Playing in Muddy Puddles!

When the torrential rain finally slacked off today, we headed out to jump in some good muddy puddles.

Samuel had never experienced this and was just in Heaven!

A Wonderful and Lazy Weekend

Friday afternoon, my friend Jenny and her little guy, Jack Michael came over to play.  The boys had a blast.

Saturday was spent doing nothing much. I went to a baby shower for a sweet friend from church.  After it was over, I got to go to Kroger--All By Myself!!

I made a fun dish for dinner.  Dirty Diapers.  A friend from high school posted this recipe on her blog.  As I started making them, I realized that this was also my sister-in-law, Jessica's, recipe too-she does hers like a casserole with crescent rolls on the bottom, meat filling, then more crescents on the top.  They were so yummy!

I also made some Funfetti cupcakes.  Can you tell Samuel liked them?
